TOPSTAR has 10 years' experience in the production of components in postformed laminate for furniture makers and resellers.
In particular it produces:

  • work tops
  • cabinet doors and front panels
  • tops for tables, desks, drawers units and wardrobes
  • peninsulas, shelves and side panels

 

 

These products are supplied in either standard length strips or are further processed (squared, edged, routed, etc.) to the customer's measurements and design.


The four groups of products listed above are different not only because of the sectors they are designed for, but also because of the varying levels of material, colour, size and shape, being identified by hundreds of product codes.


The determining factor for the whole production cycle is the shaping of the support panel along its lengths, obtained using special cutters, or by gluing together pre-shaped strips. The laminate coating is glued to the top of the support panel by a hot press system, while along the shaped sides it is folded and glued by the postforming technique.


The postforming technique more specifically involves glue being sprayed on the part of the laminate to be shaped. The plastic support is then softened by heat and pressed so it adheres to the profile.
Each product is made up of a support of a thickness which will vary depending on its final destination.
